Matnog, Sorsogon: Paradise beyond the borders

Take a trip down memory lane. I really missed Bicol
Couldnt think of any best place to spend my long weekend than in the down south of Luzon Island. Matnog in Sorsogon is the southern most town of Luzon Island. Typhoons coming from pacific ocean passes through this town, so one has to be optimistic when you visit this charming town. Unknown to many, Matnog Sorsogon is blessed with white sand beaches and pristine waters. Matnog port, the gateway to northern Samar and Eastern Visayas region is also located in this town.

Yes, im indeed in the South most town in Luzon Island. Picture take in front of this arc is a must for every traveler passing through Matnog.

Me and sooper close gay friend have braved Sorsogon. We arrived in Matnog late afternoon, so we were advised to start the tour early next morning. We have arranged our trip with their tourism coordinator Ate Mayith, her office is just located right across the municipal hall of Matnog. We stayed at Matonog pensione house and was able to get a room for as low as Php 900 A/C, with cable TV good for two. The original price of the room is Php 1200.00, since it is off-peak we managed to haggle and they marked down the price for us. Not bad, considering that the place is accessible to many food stalls, and should i mention that Matonog Pension houee is just across the Police Station too, so nothing to worry on your security.

They are selling young Sharks in Matnog wet market. The government should do something about this.!!

You can get discounts in Matonog Hotel, just tell the owner that you knew the hotel because you have read my blog ( CHAROT LANG, HINDI KO NAMAN NAMEET YUNG OWNER. HAHA ) We had our dinner in one of the food stalls near the port, NO FANCY RESTAURANTS/FOOD CHAINS in the area. So if your tummy is a bit sensitive and maarte or pihikan, you can ask the tindera for some canned goods. AND THEY SERVED THE BEST ADOBO AND NILAGANG BABOY. FYI!!!!! We were advised by Ate Mayith that there is no food stall in Subic beach. So Arvie and I woke up early the next day and went to the market to buy some food for our lunch which will be cooked by our bankero. We bought 1 Kg of Hotdog, 2Kg of Porkchop, 2 KG of Rice, and 1 whole fish. OKAY. Dont judge us. We are preparing just in case we can hook up with some cute boys and have lunch with us. ( PERO NGANGA, WALANG LALAKI NA LUMAPIT ). So we were picked up by our bankeros (infair borta si kuys, pero not my kind of guy, wala akong picture nila), they were actually brothers. We went to Juag fish Sanctuary, subic beach(big), subic beach(small) and Tikling beach. Will tell you the rest of the story with pictures. photoblogging ang peg ko ganern..

ALL HAIL QUEEN B. At juag Fish Sanctuary, you have to pull the rope so the floating improvised bamboo banca can take you to the other side of santuary.
